Once a year the iconic CHANEL brand has the chance to bring together 26 artisanal maisons that are under the Chanel umbrella to bring one of the most magnificent runway shows of the year. Many seek these highly coveted fashion show seats however this year was a little different as the guest of 200 VIP’s were taken off the list, with only one remaining. The lucky person who was able to see this iconic show all to their self, was none other than Kirsten Stewart.

As the pandemic is raging on in the world and across the fashion industry, France has been put into another ‘lockdown’, which means those 200 lucky guests were unable to attend due to strict guidelines set forth by the French Government. The reason Chanel picked one person, specifically Kristen Stewart, is because Stewart is the face of Chanel and embodies the Chanel woman inside and out. She is loved by the Chanel brand and it was very strategic celebrity placement for this runway show. Stewart has been a muse for the brand plus this show marked Virginie Viard’s first show outside of Paris.

The Chanel Métiers d’Art 2021 Collection brought together the 26 artisanal maisons, including Lesage (embroidery and tweeds), Lemarié (feathers and flowers), Desrues (costume jewellery and buttons), Barrie (cashmere), Maison Michel (millinery), and Causse (gloves).

The French fashion house served up Renaissance chic in the Château de Chenonceau, a castle in the Loire Valley which was once home to the Italian noblewoman and queen consort of France, Catherine de Medici, who was an inspiration to Coco Chanel herself.
