25% Increase on ALL French Luxury Products in the USA
Yes, you read the headline correctly. The United States will be implementing a 25% INCREASE to all French Luxury products including all Louis Vuitton, Chanel and Hermes clothing plus accessories. Cheeses, Champagnes and other French luxury goods will be hit with this tariff as well!
If you were contemplating buying that Chanel wallet or even that Hermes Birkin that your SA has been dangling in front of you, you might want to consider purchasing it now if you are in the US territories as a 25% increase is quite substantial! That will be on top of the state sales tax as well which some of us know if almost 10% in California!
We are hoping that this import duty will either get dissolved before going into effect January 6, 2021 or will be short lived as a new US Presidential administration will be coming into office. If you are not into politics, you might want to be now as they are now really affecting your every day fashions and favourite iconic luxury houses!
